WEEKLY TECHNOLOGY CLASSES

Here's what we have been working on in Technology class.

The kindergarten, first and second grade students are in different stages of learning how to use a program called Pixie.  This program gives students the opportunity to be creative through the use of text, original art, voice recording, and images.  The students are learning how to use and apply the various tools correctly.  Each grade level will be completing a project that ties into their classroom curriculum.
Third graders are learning how to keep information in "the cloud" by using their own Google Docs accounts.  The students are learning how to organize, create, and share documents and presentations.  They will be using Google Docs to complete a variety of projects throughout the fourth quarter.

The fourth graders have four technology projects that they are working on.  Students are completing state presentations for social studies class using Google Docs, creating science brochures about the skeletal system, developing a newsletter about themselves, and working in groups on an Animoto project about world health.  The fourth graders are applying many skills that they have learned this semester and are enthusiastic about showcasing their creativity!

Fifth grade students completed a project using Google Docs called, 'Who do you admire?"  These projects were placed in the hall for others to read.  The fifth graders are beginning a unit on Excel.  They are learning how to create worksheets, enter information into cells, use basic formulas, and create graphs.

Students in sixth grade are putting their musical skills to use as they create their own original song using the Garageband application.  The students are learning how to create, delete, and edit tracks, add loops, use a MIDI keyboard, and much more as they complete their projects.
